Who is the Doctor?

This is from the Book Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. The author has given lots of realistic example about human behaviour. How a Person thinks without thinking, behind his locked doors of brain.
I found this particular example very interesting.

A Man and his son are in serious car accident.
The Father is killed and the son is rushed to emergency room.
Upon arrival, the attending doctor looks at the child and gasps
"This child is my son!" Who is the Doctor?

We, People always have this automatic assumption that doctors are always Men.
